Metering for SaaS Listings
On the “Metering” page, the user can report additional usage information for their active subscribers in two ways, individual or bulk. With individual submissions, the user provides usage data for one customer at a time. The user may also choose to upload usage data for multiple products and users at the same time (i.e. Bulk mode), and the platform will validate these submissions, checking format and highlighting duplicates. Once the file has been validated, the platform will be automatically submit these records through the AWS Marketplace metering API.

Individual Metering Record Submission
For individual submission, there are 4 required fields 1/ Customer Reference ID 2/ Product Code 3/ Dimension, and 4/ Quantity. The customer reference ID and product code can be found in the SaaS listing (Under products). Some listings may have multiple usage dimensions, and the user can add more dimensions and usage quantities to the submission by clicking the “+” icon. The “Dimension” field is available in the listing’s pricing dimension section under “Key”

Bulk Metering Record Submission
Bulk submissions use the same data provided in the individual submission; each entry is comma separated as shown in the screenshot below. For multiple dimensions from the same subscription, a new row is required with all four fields.

The platform will validate the file before submission, highlight any errors, and confirm the number of records received.

After the user reviews that the file is accurate and submits the records, they can check the metering dashboard for the status of the submission. The user may view details of what they have submitted by clicking on the submission entry.
